SMS opt-in process
This page documents how end users of businesses that use Taskrol provide consent to receive SMS. It is intended for carrier reviewers, A2P 10DLC campaign submissions, and Twilio/TCR compliance checks.
How end users opt in
Taskrol is a field-service CRM used by plumbing, appliance repair, and similar trade businesses. The business is the SMS sender; their customers (homeowners, commercial clients) are the end users. Consent is collected by the business using one of the following methods:
- Web intake / booking form — the end user enters their phone number and checks an unchecked consent checkbox (never pre-selected) before submitting. The checkbox is adjacent to disclosure text (see sample below).
- In-person / tablet at the door — the technician presents a digital form; the customer reads the disclosure and taps the checkbox themselves.
- Verbal consent (documented) — the business records the consent event with date, time, and the script read to the customer. Taskrol logs this note in the job or contact record.
Consent is not shared with third parties and is not a condition of purchase.
Required consent language
Businesses using Taskrol are required to display an opt-in statement adjacent to the unchecked consent checkbox on their intake form. The disclosure must name the actual business the end user is consenting to hear from (your registered trade or legal name). The live sample below uses Kereon Inc. — the legal operator of Taskrol and this website (taskrol.com) — so carriers and Twilio can verify a real name on the public opt-in page. Use your own business name on customer-facing forms you operate.
Sample opt-in form (web / intake)
Not Taskrol product UI. This block is a static HTML example for carrier and registry reviewers (same pattern as common CTIA/Twilio opt-in samples). Taskrol does not ship this exact screen to your customers. Each business using Taskrol collects consent on its own channels—website booking, ads, tablet at the door, or documented verbal consent—as described in the section above.
- ✓ Checkbox is not pre-selected
- ✓ Consent statement is separate from the Privacy Policy / Terms text
- ✓ Business name is shown inside the statement
- ✓ STOP and HELP keywords are present
- ✓ Message frequency and data-rate disclosure are present
- ✓ Consent is not required as a condition of purchase
Sample messages sent to end users
After consent is obtained, businesses using Taskrol may send messages such as:
- Kereon: You are subscribed to receive SMS messages about appointments, technician ETAs, invoices, and review requests. Msg & data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. Reply HELP for help. Reply STOP to cancel.
- Max from Kereon is on the way and will arrive in about 21 minutes. (714) 722-2002
- Hi John, your invoice from Kereon is ready. Balance due: $436.54.
- Your appointment is confirmed for tomorrow at 2 PM. Reply HELP for assistance or STOP to unsubscribe.
Opt-out (STOP)
When an end user replies STOP, CANCEL, or UNSUBSCRIBE, Taskrol records the opt-out and stops further automated SMS to that number from the business. A single opt-out confirmation message is sent. To opt back in the end user may reply START or provide fresh consent through the intake form.
Example: opt-in confirmation and HELP (iPhone)
After consent, the first message can confirm what the customer signed up for, include rate and frequency disclosures, and show HELP/STOP. Below: user sends HELP and receives a short support reply with your business number and taskrol.com.

Example: STOP after a technician ETA text
Field-service ETA update, then the recipient replies STOP. The business sends one confirmation that they are unsubscribed, with START and HELP instructions.

Example: STOP after an invoice SMS
Transactional invoice notice, then STOP. Confirmation uses a clear program name and repeats how to opt back in or get help.
